Ayurveda Practice

Healthy state is a natural state and any deviation due to the stress and poor diet will ultimately lead to the disease. There is a direct link between emotional and physical health and ayurveda treats both the body and mind to purify and rejuvenate them for a true balance. Legends say that about 3 million years ago a group of top Indian sages traveled to the Himalayas in search of enlightenment. They wanted to remove all diseases in the world because only those who are physically, mentally and spiritually healthy could attain enlightenment. So, collectively they meditated on how to get rid of the disease and finally the secret of true health and happiness was revealed. These findings have been preserved in the ancient Vedic texts.

The practitioner will develop a treatment plan and can work with people who are familiar with the patient and can help. Dosha has a special relationship to the functions of the body and can be broken down for different reasons. Dosha is composed of the five basic elements: space, air, fire, water and earth. Practitioners seek to determine dosha and balance doshas through the questions with particular symptoms.Diseases are linked to balance of doshas and the status of the physical and mental factors. Carefully observe the physical characteristics, such as teeth, skin, eyes and weight. Taking the pulse of a person as each dosha is thought to be a particular type of stimulus.

The patient may be advised to obtain and maintain calm through yoga, meditation, exercise, or other techniques to increase the harmony in the life of the patient. Practitioners expect patients to be active participants in their treatment. Reducing the symptoms the practitioner may propose various options including yoga exercises, breathing exercises, meditation, stretching, herbs and sun bath. Removing impurities, it focuses on the digestive tract and respiratory system

Ayurveda suggests that there are 107 key points in the body where life energy is stored and these points can be massaged to improve health. Treatments for Vital points or massage can be used to reduce pain, reduce fatigue, or improve circulation to eliminate the physical and psychological problems. In Ayurveda the distinction between food and medicine is not as clear as in Western medicine. Currently some 5,000 products are included in the Ayurvedic treatment pharmacy. Diet and nutrition are important parts of Ayurvedic practice and so there is a high dependence on treatments based on herbs and plants, spices like turmeric, oils such as sesame oil, and other natural substances. Tell your health care provider if you plan to use Ayurveda or another therapy. It is for your safety and a comprehensive treatment plan. If you are interested in Ayurveda you should be aware and it is important to learn about the practitioner’s training and experience.

Ayurveda in daily life

Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word derived from two roots which means science of life. It has its roots in the ancient Vedic literature and encompasses all our life, body, mind and spirit. According to Ayurveda, there are seven body types: mono (type kapha, pitta or Vata predominant of any one dosha), dual - either pitta-kapha or vata-pitta otherwise kapha-vata and Equal: in this kind the doshas (the Vata, pitta and kapha)would be in equal proportions. Every individual has a certain connection with these three dosha.

Ayurveda is the only science that tells us how good health and a quality of life is extremely beneficial for living without diseases. As mentioned in the ancient texts of ayurveda there are two types of regime that must be followed. These are: Plan for the Day - it deals with everything that is needed in a daily routine. Ayurveda believes that a person should wake up early in the morning about half an hour before the sun rises and should brush their teeth, take a bath. After that he should worship the supreme power and only then, should have a meal.

It was mentioned that the person must have his dinner before sunset. He should relax and must spend his time with his family. It was also said that what should be the atmosphere of the place where he should have his bed and the direction in which he would sleep. Recent research has shown that these little small factors have a definitive effect, not only on the psyche, but also on the physical aspect of a person.

There is also another issue which is called as saddvritta; this is about the social behavior of a person. This aspect deals with a person’s behavior and his responsibilities towards society where he lives in. Ayurveda teaches us that the way to live in a society which is useful in raising mental state and the activities of people around us. In addition to these general maintenance procedures of health ayurveda also indicates ways to achieve some longevity and live as a teenager. These methods are known as a tonic. Longevity can be achieved by herbal medicines and also as a result of a number of procedures.

Ayurveda also mentions the body detoxification and rejuvenation procedures. It is a five-step procedure which contributes to the elimination of toxins in the body thereby establishing homeostasis in the three dhoshas (Vata, pitta and kapha). Ayurveda also contains a list of many plants with their complete description and their therapeutic use. There are also references to the preparation of various herbal remedies which are extremely useful in eradication of various diseases. Thus ayurveda can be called as one of the health sciences that can turn your body growing strong, young and filled with enthusiasm.

Women are much more sensitive to the rhythms and cycles of nature and Ayurveda is based on the principle of maintaining the toned body in harmony with nature. And of course women are very suitable for Ayurveda. This is a holistic science of health and longevity. The origin of this system if we need to understand it will date back for more than 8000 years and in those time it is merged with the spirituality.Ayurveda is a philosophy and system of healing of the whole person as body and mind.

For an Ayurvedic diagnosis patients are classified according to their body types that are determined by the proportions of these three dosha. When the doshas are not in balance illness and disease will result. Ayurvedic treatments are designed to restore harmony or balance of the mind and body. Pita (fire) determines the digestion of food, your metabolism, sensory perceptions and your emotions. More Pitta can lead to anger, acidity, ulcers, rashes and thinning hair. Vata controls blood flow, waste disposal and your breathing.

In addition to medicine a healthy diet, exercise and lifestyle are also advised. It is equally important. If we take a drug to remove the root causes and at the same time we are taking a little food or following a lifestyle that is increasingly the cause of the disease then you can not get relief. Dietary Regimen: A selection of food is necessary to avoid an imbalance of dosha and is also used as a treatment of many diseases. Exercise plays an important role in treating the disease.

The main goal is the prevention. Original text tells us that human beings should be able to live about 100 years and that we can live in old age physically and mentally in good health. Ayurveda does not accept that old age means a poor health and poor quality of life. Although these texts were written about several thousands of years back Ayurvedic principles remain applicable even in today’s environment.
